Full job description

Ready to take the next step in your career as a Children’s Speech and Language Therapist?
Join us in a dynamic role that offers variety, flexibility, and the chance to develop your clinical interests across a diverse caseload.

Why join us?

Be part of a supportive, collaborative team committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

Enjoy a flexible working environment that values work-life balance.

Access opportunities to grow and specialise in areas that interest you which include access to internal and external training courses

About the role
We’re expanding our Speech and Language therapy team following new investment to reduce waiting times. We have created three new Band 6 posts and three new Band 4 posts , and we’re excited to welcome enthusiastic, motivated therapists to join us.

There are opportunities to work across the county (including Abingdon/Witney/Henley/Bicester/Oxford/Banbury) with sessions available to work in a range of ages and settings including nurseries, primary and secondary schools (mainstream and special) as well as resource bases.

This is a permanent position , advertised as full-time, but we welcome applications for part-time or flexible hours—just give us a call to discuss options.

If you’re passionate about making a difference and keen to work in a varied role with real opportunities for growth, we’d love to hear from you!

Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work. Adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010 where required.

You’ll work closely with experienced colleagues and provide support to Band 4 and Band 5 team members while managing your own caseload. Your role will focus on children within our core clinical pathways— Speech Sound Disorders, Language Difficulties, and Social Communication —with the exciting opportunity to collaborate with our fluency specialist on the Stammering pathway .

Our SLT team includes Band 5 and 6 therapists, technical instructors, apprentices, and Specialist Leads (Band 7). We deliver Speech and Language Therapy to children and young people aged 0–19 across Oxfordshire in a variety of settings. Our service model is built around six evidence-based Clinical Pathways, and you’ll have the chance to contribute to service improvement projects .

You’ll also work alongside other members of the Children’s Integrated Therapy (CIT) team— Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Assistant Practitioners —and collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team in Education, Health, and Social Care. We maintain strong links with SLTs at the John Radcliffe Hospital Oxford , home to specialist services such as the Regional Cleft Palate and Cochlear Implant service .

You will have your own caseload to manage and prioritise, delivering timely assessment and intervention packages, contributing to the SEND process, engaging in clinical meetings and delivering training to staff and parents.

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust provides physical, mental health and social care for people of all ages across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath and North East Somerset.

Our services are delivered at community bases, hospitals, clinics and people’s homes, delivering care as close to home as possible
