Job Overview
Fed up of all the administration which goes with teaching? Out of pocket chasing people for payments again and again? We pay you for the hours to teach, whether the student has paid their invoice or not.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Piano Teacher to join our well established, fast growing and respected music academy. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality piano instruction to students of ages 5-18 of varying skill levels, in schools around Leicestershire. This role offers an opportunity to inspire and nurture musical talent, fostering a love for music through personalised lessons and professional guidance. The ideal applicant will possess a strong musical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to student development.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging piano lessons tailored to individual student needs and goals
  • Assess students’ progress regularly and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Prepare students for performances, exams, and competitions as appropriate
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages creativity and confidence
  • Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, attendance, and student achievements
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and parents regarding progress and areas for improvement through our online system
  • Stay updated with current teaching techniques and musical trends to ensure effective instruction
  • Maintain a current DBS

Experience

  • Proven experience as a piano teacher or professional pianist is highly desirable
  • Formal qualifications in music or piano performance are preferred but not essential if accompanied by demonstrable teaching experience
  • Ability to teach a range of styles from classical to contemporary music
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage your time across multiple schools
  • Strong interpersonal skills to motivate and inspire learners of all ages
  • Knowledge of music theory, sight-reading, and ear training techniques is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn the LCM Piano syllabus for examinations

This role provides an enriching environment for both the teacher and students, encouraging musical growth in a supportive setting. You will be joining a company with over 15 years experience of working in schools with excellent administration and process in place to make your work more enjoyable. We do all the annoying tasks, so you simply have to turn up and do what you do best; teach. We welcome applicants who are enthusiastic about sharing their passion for music while fostering the next generation of talented pianists.
