Job Description

Talent Acquisition Manager (12 Month FTC)

People team: We enable the delivery of News UK, brand and business strategy through proactive people planning and true business partnering. With Inclusion, culture, talent, development, colleague experience and wellbeing at the heart of everything we do.

Your role: As Talent Acquisition Manager , you will lead a dedicated Talent Acquisition team to shape the future of News UK by finding, inspiring, and bringing onboard exceptional talent. You will partner directly with brand leaders across our business to build progressive hiring strategies while delivering a seamless, fair, and engaging experience for both candidates and hiring managers.

Day to day you will:

  • Lead and coach the Talent Acquisition team to attract top talent while continuously improving our recruitment practices.

  • Partner with business leaders and the wider People team to design and deliver strategic hiring plans tailored to brand needs.

  • Successfully lead the team through the system transformation onto Workday

  • Contribute expertise to the Centres of Expertise (COE) team ensuring that COE initiatives have a joined up approach between Talent acquisition, Diversity and Learning and Development

  • Drive engaging Employer Value Proposition (EVP) and employer brand initiatives in partnership with our Communications team to showcase News UK as an employer of choice.

  • Champion diversity at every stage of the recruitment process, collaborating on key diversity talent initiatives.

  • Utilise talent data and market analytics to provide clear, actionable advice to senior stakeholders and the wider team.

  • Optimise our recruiting tools, LinkedIn and our ATS.

  • Implement and evaluate innovative automation and AI initiatives.

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for senior positions and step in to support the broader team when required.

  • Represent the Talent Acquisition function on key business projects, alignment activities and best practice initiatives across News UK and globally within News Corp.

What we’re looking for from you:

  • Talent acquisition expertise : Proven track record in recruitment excellence, managing both direct sourcing and targeted hiring campaigns.

  • Market intelligence: Deep understanding of candidate market trends and active sourcing methods across competitive industries.

  • Leadership & coaching skills: Ability to guide, mentor, and support a team, fostering an environment where colleagues receive constructive feedback and develop their potential.

  • Relationship management: Skilled in listening, asking insightful questions, and building collaborative trust across all business levels.

  • Data-driven storytelling: Ability to translate talent data into meaningful insights and present them persuasively to stakeholders.

  • Diversity focus: Current knowledge of modern fair recruitment principles and how to embed equitable hiring practices into day-to-day talent sourcing.

  • Project management: Experience leading talent initiatives from concept to delivery while keeping stakeholders informed and aligned.

  • Proactive mindset: Ability to spot opportunities for improvement, bring fresh ideas to the table, and deliver practical solutions.
