This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in a career as a Cardiac Physiologist. You will need to demonstrate technical proficiency in a wide range of routine and specialist techniques including interpretation of results and provision of factual/clinical reports. Responsible for own clinical practice during all cardiac diagnostic testing and interventional procedures, including specialist or complex procedures
With an opportunity to develop your skills and eventually participate in highly specialist techniques such as implantation and follow-up of ICDs and biventricular devices. We offer robust management supervision, regular team meetings and clinical support from across the team.
Work actively with the other members of the team to provide a high quality service to meet all service needs. Support all cardiac physiologists working in all areas providing assistance and troubleshooting as required. Participate in department meetings, training programmes and other developmental sessions.
Participate in quality assurance, audit and research/development activities.
Comply with all relevant local and Trust wide policies and procedures
As a Cardiac Physiologist, you will be expected to work across all sites within the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, gaining comprehensive exposure to the full range of cardiology services we provide. Our department offers a variety of both invasive and non-invasive cardiac investigations, including:
12 Lead ECG (adults and paediatrics)
Physiologist-led exercise stress testing
Tilt testing
Ambulatory monitoring
Cardiac device follow-up
Complex invasive procedures such as angiography, PCI, PPM, ICD/CRT implantation
Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE)
Transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE)
Contrast and bubble studies
Stress echocardiography
