Job Introduction

Ecommerce Content Executive

As we continue our mission to make people and nature happy through chocolate, we’re looking for an Ecommerce Content Executive to join our Ecommerce team on a hybrid, full-time basis.

In this creative and detail-driven role, you’ll take ownership of on-site content across our website and app, ensuring every page feels inspiring, visually engaging and easy to shop. With a strong gifting mindset and analytical approach, you’ll work closely with creative, marketing and trading teams to deliver best-in-class content that enhances customer journeys and supports business growth.

As well as a competitive salary and a range of company benefits, you’ll receive 50% discount on all products, and a 70% discount for you and your guests when you stay at our Rabot Estate hideaway on the paradise island of Saint Lucia.

Mint House (Hybrid Working)

Here at Hotel Chocolat, we've adopted hybrid working. This means you’ll join us on site for three days a week, and for the other two days – you can work from wherever you like!

The on-site location for this role is our support office, Mint House, in Royston, Hertfordshire. Our home from the very beginning, it’s just off the A505 and a 10-minute walk from Royston train station, with direct rail links to London King’s Cross.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Ensuring all website and app content is accurate, relevant and aligned with brand guidelines and seasonal campaigns

  • Working closely with Creative, Marketing and Campaign teams to optimise digital briefs and deliver consistent, best-in-class customer journeys

  • Curating and updating gift guides, themed landing pages and homepage content for key seasonal events such as Easter, Mother’s Day and Christmas

  • Analysing live performance data and producing post-campaign ‘washups’, feeding insights back into future planning

  • Using data and brand strategy to support a framework for conversion-led content pages

  • Ensuring strong on-site visibility of content landing pages, supporting digital strategy and SEO objectives

  • Partnering with the Ecommerce Trading team to ensure content and messaging are accurately reflected on site through imagery and copy

  • Collaborating with the Ecommerce Creative team to ensure artwork is commercial, accessible and always mobile-first

  • Working with our app provider to deliver best-in-class visuals and experiences for our most loyal customers

  • Supporting our journey towards a part-composable digital ecosystem

  • Supporting our omnichannel strategy, including Retail and Café content where required

  • Regularly walking the site to proactively fix issues and recommend enhancements to the customer journey

Who you are…

You’re a creative, organised and detail-focused content specialist with a passion for storytelling and gifting. You combine a strong visual eye with analytical thinking and enjoy collaborating across teams to bring digital experiences to life. You’re confident sharing ideas and feedback, always with the customer at the heart of what you do.

Essential

  • Passion for delivering best-in-class gifting journeys

  • Experience writing and executing digital briefs

  • Confident using CMS platforms such as Amplience

  • Basic HTML knowledge

  • Experience using analytics tools such as GA4 and Content Square

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Confidence feeding back digital needs and requirements

  • Good understanding of omnichannel customer journeys

Desirable

  • Experience working within a premium brand

  • At least 3 years’ experience in an ecommerce environment

  • Experience working specifically with gifting-led content

Who are we?

We’re one of the UK’s favourite premium chocolate brands, with a range of products spanning luxury gifts, alcohol and our pioneering drinking chocolate system, the Velvetiser™.

A cacao pod takes years to grow – it can’t be rushed if it’s going to be just right for our products. The same can be said for Hotel Chocolat, which originally started as a mint production company before we realised it was luxury chocolate that we were really passionate about.

Now, we’re market leaders in the industry. What began as an online-only business grew to over 140 stores across the UK, and we’re still growing… Today, we’re multi-category, multi-channel, and multi-territory, and our customers, colleagues, cacao farmers and suppliers all benefit from the success we make together.
