About In Kind Direct
For nearly 30 years, In Kind Direct has been at the forefront of product redistribution in the UK, ensuring that no one misses out on life’s essentials. Founded by HM The King, we partner with leading brands and retailers to channel everyday goods—hygiene items, household products, toys, clothing and more—to over 6,000 community groups. Every week, we help more than half a million people in need. Yet, poverty and exclusion remain as key challenges within the UK, and we’re on a mission to reach even more people with more products.
Our values
We work with kindness, togetherness and integrity, driving innovation.
The opportunity
We are looking for a talented individual to support the work of our high achieving and target driven Corporate Partnerships team and ambitious five-year growth strategy. Working closely with the Head of Business Development and Head of Corporate Partnerships this role will serve as a vital administrative and operational support function within the Corporate Partnerships (CP) team enabling them to focus their energy on cultivating and strengthening key partner relationships and work closely across our ecommerce, network and marketing functions to bring impact to life. They will also get the opportunity to learn about charity/corporate partnerships, manage their own smaller scale corporate relationships and new business opportunities with targets against them.
The aim is to enable growth and efficiencies across the corporate partnerships team to unlock more product donations from our corporate partners, which directly support the charitable organisations in our network.
This is a varied and interesting role, and a great development opportunity for someone looking to start their career in the charity sector.
Crucially, you will have experience coordinating and multitasking, managing different projects with different stakeholders at any given time. This really is a chance to make real change and impact the lives of so many people.
The role is based out of our London Bridge office. We operate a hybrid working practice and expect the individual to be in the office a minimum of 2 x days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting bulk email outreach to smaller scale donors as part of campaign engagement
- Responsible for generating circa £100k per annum of income through product and/or fundraising donations.
- Monitoring the inbound donations inbox—declining unsuitable offers and directing relevant requests to the appropriate team member.
- Leading Corporate Partnerships donation pipeline meetings and maintaining an accurate, up-to-date pipeline based on weekly/monthly incoming donations.
- Keeping the fundraising pipeline up to date, ensuring financial donations are recorded accurately and flagging outstanding items for follow-up.
- Assisting with performance tracking and related reporting for campaigns and ongoing activity.
- Supporting the collection, oversight, and outreach needed for quotes and feedback used in impact reports.
- Developing tailored case studies that demonstrate In Kind Direct’s impact across different stakeholder groups.
- Coordinating bespoke requests for content creation, volunteer opportunities and charity visits for Corporate Partners.
- Managing CRM housekeeping to ensure data accuracy and effective team use.
- Coordinating calendar management, meeting invitations, and recurring Corporate Partnerships team project meetings.
- Providing ad hoc administrative support to the Corporate Partnerships team and Commercial Director as needed.
- Ensuring products are correctly identifiable and searchable within the catalogue, including verifying descriptions and defect information.
- Identifying relevant external events that could unlock new business opportunities.
To succeed in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Strong administrative skills, ideally experience of using databases
- Excellent written communication skills
- Well organised and able to prioritise a busy workload
- Strong communication skills, comfortable speaking and presenting to different audiences
- Ability to build relationships and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
- A collaborative working style, adaptable to different team styles
- Ability to take responsibility for agreed objectives and targets
- Experience of developing presentations, reports and analytics using PowerPoint and Excel
- Some experience with CRM databases
- Demonstrable interest in the charity sector, corporate responsibility, social enterprise and In Kind Direct’s area of work
- Aligned with IKD values of kindness, togetherness, integrity, and innovation
Why In Kind Direct?
As well as having the chance to work in a charity that helps thousands of people each year, our team benefits include volunteering days, 25 days holiday each year (including 3 days between Christmas and New Year, excluding public holidays), an interest-free travel loan, and a generous pension scheme entitlement. We are an equal opportunity employer and support our team to succeed in their roles through training, adaptations, flexibility in working, access to our Employee Assistance Platform, and a range of policies to support people in their personal, family and care responsibilities.
We are an accredited Great Place to Work – and have additionally been recognised as a Great Place to Work amongst small Charities and a Great Place to work for Women.
We seek to challenge discrimination and are committed to our values of kindness, togetherness, integrity, and innovation. We are on an organisational journey to achieving our EDI vision and welcome any questions about our progress and aspirations.
We especially welcome applications from anyone with lived experience of being on a low income or working with smaller charitable organisations.
We will meet all reasonable expenses that will support anyone invited to interview to be able to participate.
