Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Construction to oversee and coordinate all construction projects within our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project timelines, budgets, and teams, ensuring that all projects meet quality standards and safety regulations. This leadership role requires strategic planning, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving to drive the successful delivery of construction initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure project specifications are met effectively.
  • Oversee procurement processes and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all sites and promote a culture of safety among team members.
  • Monitor project progress regularly, providing detailed reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Manage project budgets, control costs, and optimise resource utilisation for maximum efficiency.
  • Incorporate electrical systems design considerations into overall construction planning where applicable.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise project teams to foster a motivated and skilled workforce.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, building codes, and technological advancements relevant to construction management.

Skills

  • Proven experience in construction management with a track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects.
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent organisational skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety protocols.
  • Exceptional communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and team coordination.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts accurately.
  • Proficiency in project management software programmes such as MS Project or Asta Powerproject.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities under pressure.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality throughout all phases of construction projects.
  • To speak Albanian would advantageous.

Hours

· Head Office base: Camden/Mornington Cresent

· Site are based in: Lewisham/Catford/Wickford/Acton (where you will be required to carry out site visits), these are our current sites, not mentioning new sites being acquired.

· Hours: 09:00-17:00 Monday to Friday

· Salary: £75000- £95,000 – depending on experience

· Package: 28 days holiday including bank holiday, pension scheme, company laptop & phone, company car, opportunities for progression and professional development, supportive team and positive working environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £75,000.00-£95,000.00 per year
