Description

Fire and Security engineer who will be learning alongside experienced engineers to help them grow and succeed in the security sector. They will be learning on the job and will be supported from the beginning. These will be both full time with block training release to Doncaster. The apprentices will work across both Security and Fire and as a result will grow to become a multi disciplined engineer.

Alarmtech Security specialises in designing, installing and maintaining intruder alarms, CCTV systems, access control and security lighting for homes and businesses across Yorkshire and Lancashire. As an apprentice, you’ll start by shadowing experienced engineers on site, learning how to carry out installations, fault-finding, routine servicing and customer support while gaining hands-on experience with both wired and wireless security systems.

As you progress, you’ll take on more responsibility - working independently on jobs, commissioning systems and supporting customers directly.

By the end of the apprenticeship, you’ll be fully qualified to install, service and maintain a full range of professional fire and security systems, with the skills to operate as a competent engineer in the industry.

Entry requirements
  • Maths and English GCSE at grade 4/C or above
  • Drivers licence required
  • Good work ethic and an interest in the sector
  • Live locally to the postcode advertised
  • Previous experience preferred

Training to be provided

Skills for Security will deliver the Level 3 apprenticeship via block release training weeks at their Doncaster training centre via a block release system. This would involve going to the training centre Tuesday - Friday 1 week in every 8 weeks.

You will be required to complete all training tasks allocated during your block release weeks at the training centre, and gathering any site evidence needed to supplement your studies.

You will be required to complete an annual assessment at the training centre and take part in any additional training courses that the company require you to complete.
