Full job description
This is an exciting opportunity to join the First Responder Department (FRD) as a non-clinical Associate Community Resuscitation Trainer (ACRT).
You will promote and support the delivery of the Trust's London Lifesaver Strategy to reduce health inequalities and improve out of hospital cardiac arrest survival.
You will be undertaking London Lifesaver training working alongside our clinical CRTs supporting our volunteers, Heart Starters and schools programme.
You will be working alongside our CRT’s to conduct training sessions and events in a range of non-classroom settings (e.g. commercial companies, sports centres, community centres) using a variety of presentational aids to diverse audiences, including large groups in line with the Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines.
You will be assisting to support the delivery accredited awards, championing best practices and upholding the Trust's Values and Behaviours to improve high standards of patient care.
The Associate Community Resuscitation Trainer (ACRT) will be responsible for teaching a number of high-quality lifesaving programmes to the public across London.
They will drive the development of community resuscitation, heart health and public access defibrillation initiatives across the capital to maximise impact in community resuscitation and increase the chances of survival from an out of hospital cardiac arrest. The ACRT will deliver training across all our current London Lifesaving programs including leading on projects.
The ACRT will work closely with all our volunteers supporting, training and developing CPD strategies.
The ACRT will actively promote the work of the First Responder Department and play a major role in promoting the LAS to external agencies.
Post holders will be involved in seeking out new work, planning and implementing new training courses and initiatives.
The ACRT will be involved in all areas of work pertaining to the trusts strategy in improving out of hospital cardiac arrest survival.
Our strategy 2023-2028 outlines how we plan to achieve this, and is centred upon three missions focused on:
Our care – delivering outstanding emergency and urgent care whenever and wherever needed.
Our organisation – being an increasingly inclusive, well-led and highly skilled organisation people are proud to work for.
Our London – using our unique pan-London position to contribute to improving the health of the capital.
To achieve these three missions we have set ourselves 50 commitments to deliver over the next five years. In developing these ambitious commitments, we have engaged extensively both inside our organisation, with our partners and with our patients, and we have analysed population trends and horizon scanned the future.
Applicants are advised to read all the information enclosed in the advert before completing an application.
