Full job description

The Barn at Pengelly is a wedding venue that opened in June 2022 and has seen fast expansion, with our brand new Glam Room opening in 2025 and our in-house catering and kitchen garden launching in 2026.

We offer exclusive hire weddings, events and conferences along with on-site accommodation for up to 40 guests.

We are currently looking for a highly experienced and motivated Wedding, Events and Sales Coordinator to join our dynamic team for maternity cover, with potential to extend into a full time role.

Previous experience is essential, demonstrating confidence and expertise in all aspects of the wedding and events industry, as well as strong admin skills.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responding to all enquiries in a timely, confident and professional manner, taking every opportunity to upsell and identify sales opportunities
  • Conducting client show rounds and appointments, displaying a clear and comprehensive knowledge of the venue, accommodation and packages
  • Contacting clients regarding contracts, invoices, processing deposits and payments
  • Creating event schedules and function sheets, ensuring all details are listed and specific requirements handed over to the relevant departments
  • Setting up and dismantling wedding/event décor and equipment efficiently through to completion
  • Managing weddings/events on the day including, but not limited to, problem-solving, welcoming guests, communicating with staff, bar service and organising suppliers
  • Coordinating with suppliers such as registrars, florists, photographers, and musicians, to ensure that all details of the wedding/event are taken care of on the day
  • Managing catering offerings, gathering dietary requirements and up-selling wrap around catering packages
  • Conducting post-event feedback requests to check satisfaction and secure repeat business if appropriate
  • Supporting the bar team when required
  • Confident working alone at times

Schedule:

  • Wedding day coordination will typically run from 10:00 – 20:00 (multi-day hire so no back to back weddings)
  • Weekend availability is required for weddings and show rounds

As a family-owned independent Cornish business, we highly appreciate and value each member of our talented team. As well as a salary of £26,500 we also offer £50 commission per wedding booked. Although this is a fixed term contract there is potential to move into a permanent role as the team will be expanding next year. Start date ASAP but flexible for the right person.

Own transport is essential due to rural location.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: From £27,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Company events
  • Company pension
  • Discounted or free food
  • Free parking
  • On-site parking
