General Farm Worker Livestock & Maintenance

North Kilworth, Leicestershire

Fosse Meadows is an innovative farming and food business combining Total Freedom poultry, sheep, regenerative farming, on-farm processing and direct retail.

We are building a business that produces exceptional food whilst improving the land for future generations. Alongside our poultry and sheep enterprises, we are developing regenerative grazing systems, agroforestry projects and a growing direct-to-consumer food business.

We are looking for a practical and proactive farm worker with livestock and mechanical experience to join our team.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems, caring for livestock and helping improve a growing farm business.

The Role

No two days are the same.

You will be involved in a mix of livestock husbandry, machinery operation, farm maintenance and development projects.

Responsibilities include:

Poultry

Daily poultry husbandry

Feeding, bedding and welfare checks

Shed preparation and setup

Bird movements and catching

Monitoring bird health and welfare

Supporting high welfare standards across the farm

Sheep

Grazing movements

Handling and welfare checks

Dosing and routine health treatments

Lambing support

Sheep infrastructure and fencing

Farm Maintenance

Fencing installation and repairs

Vehicle and machinery maintenance

Workshop tasks

Welding and fabrication

Construction and groundworks

Water systems and drinker repairs

Shed maintenance and improvements

General farm repairs and upkeep

Machinery & Equipment

Telehandler operation

Tractor operation

Toppers and trailers

Pressure washers

Generators

Feed systems and motors

Livestock handling equipment

Farm Processing

Supporting our on-farm poultry processing and packing operation when required

Essential Requirements

Full UK driving licence

Previous livestock experience

Practical mechanical aptitude

Experience working with machinery and equipment

Ability to work safely and efficiently

Good communication skills

Willingness to work across different areas of the farm

Desirable Requirements

Telehandler certificate

Tractor experience

Agricultural engineering experience

Welding and fabrication skills

Sheep experience

Construction or groundwork experience

Training can be provided for the right candidate.
