SCHOOL OF MEDICINE AND BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES
Undergraduate Studies Office, Medical Sciences Teaching Centre, South Parks Road
Grade 4: £28,437 - £32,108 per annum (pro rata)
Hours: Part-time: 15 hours / 0.4 FTE (full-time equivalent 36.5 hours)
Model of working: 100% on site
We are seeking a highly efficient and capable assistant to support a team of busy undergraduate course administrators in the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. The team is responsible for the administration of the undergraduate programmes in Pre-clinical Medicine, Biomedical Sciences and Graduate-entry Medicine.
The Academic and Finance Assistant will support the Undergraduate Studies administration team with various tasks, including, but not limited to, uploading announcements for students on the Virtual Learning Environment, uploading tutorial arrangements to the Tutorial Management System (TMS), raising requisitions on the financial system, processing invoices and administering casual payroll payments. The postholder may also be called upon to provide support to other members of the team at busy times (e.g. during examinations).
The successful candidate for this position will have the ability to work systematically and to a high level of accuracy, with excellent attention to detail. They will have strong administrative and organisational skills and will have the ability to manage a broad workload in an efficient manner. They will need to be willing and able to work harmoniously as a team member within a culture of academic leadership, as well as to work independently and to take the initiative to find solutions to problems, or to progress key tasks. They will have an excellent standard of computer-literacy and will have the ability to handle numerical and financial data with confidence and accuracy.

This is a permanent, part-time post. The post holder will be based in the Undergraduate Studies Office in the Medical Sciences Teaching Centre in the science area.
