Full job description

The Big Idea: Help Brands Get Chosen. More Often.

At WAA Chosen, we believe marketing only really matters when it makes a brand the obvious choice. That’s why everything we do – from brand and digital to PR, promotions and social – has one purpose: to deliver creativity with commercial bite.

We’re an employee-owned agency made up of three specialist hubs: Automotive & Transport, Building & Construction, and Leisure & Lifestyle. A place where ambition thrives, business brains and creative hearts work side by side, and where people genuinely drive each other forward. Careers don’t just progress here – they accelerate north of where you thought they could.

Now, we’re looking for an Account Director to help lead that charge. Someone who can strengthen relationships, steer strategy, grow accounts and champion work that earns attention and delivers commercial results.

What You’ll Do

You’ll lead key client relationships with confidence, clarity and commercial focus – becoming the trusted partner who understands the challenges behind the brief and the opportunities ahead of it. You’ll ensure accounts remain profitable, healthy and growing.

You’ll interrogate client briefs and shape communications strategy alongside the Hub Head, guiding teams to develop creative work grounded in insight and aligned to the wider strategic direction. You’ll lead the briefing process, direct development of ideas, and present work persuasively to clients.

You’ll manage and develop your team, setting high standards and creating an environment where people feel supported, motivated and accountable. You’ll report performance to senior leadership, maintain financial oversight and spot new business opportunities – both within existing accounts and future clients – while keeping ahead of category and industry trends.

What You Bring

You’ve led accounts at a senior level and know how to inspire confidence – internally, with clients, and with agency partners. You’re commercially sharp, creatively curious, and comfortable influencing at senior levels.

You’re decisive and unafraid to take responsibility, while understanding when and how to bring people with you. You know the value of delegation, accountability and shared ownership – and you coach others to reach their potential through praise, feedback, and challenge when needed.

You’re skilled at evaluating creative work and articulating feedback that sharpens thinking. You care deeply about your clients’ businesses, understand where marketing delivers value, and stay switched on to trends that shape the wider communications landscape.

Why You’ll Love It Here

Because here, you don’t just clock in. You own it. Literally.

We’re employee-owned, so when we grow, you grow. You’ll benefit from the rewards that make a real difference – including generous holidays, flexi-time, Health Shield access, wellbeing support, matched pensions, the Electric Dreams EV scheme, life assurance, financial coaching, cycle-to-work, discounted parking and bonuses for referrals and new business.

You’ll learn continuously through our YDF development programme, with 70+ hours of training, funded qualifications, immersive client experiences, annual agency conferences, and support from industry specialists. Add to that our collaboration space, Sutton location with excellent transport links, and regular socials – and you’ll find a place where progress feels personal.

Apply now. Help us keep WAA Chosen, well… chosen.
