Financial Controller
Southampton Solent University
Permanent, Full-Time

Southampton Solent University is seeking to appoint a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our Finance Department on a permanent, full-time basis. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you will lead and develop our Accounts and Business Partnership Team, delivering high-quality financial information, analysis and reporting.

You will ensure the University meets all financial, legal, tax and regulatory obligations, including compliance with FRS 102 and VAT requirements. You will work closely with key internal and external stakeholders, playing a central part in financial planning, annual budget setting, forecasting and performance analysis.

We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience and a strong track record in audit, financial control and regulatory reporting. You will bring excellent leadership skills, proven experience in budgeting and forecasting, and the ability to build productive working relationships across the University.

This is a varied and rewarding position covering both financial and management accounting. You must be confident using computer-based accounting systems and highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
