Full job description

Earn £13.00 - £15.00 per hour launching a new premium Holiday Club in Upton (NN5).

  • Role: Technical Workshop Lead / "The Engine"
  • Pay Rate: £13.00 – £15.00 per hour (Dependent on experience and First Aid qualifications)
  • Dates: Monday 16th Feb – Friday 20th Feb 2026 (Half Term)
  • Location: Upton Meadows Primary School, Northampton (NN5)

THE OPPORTUNITY: FOR THE MAKERS & FIXERS

We aren't looking for someone to sit behind a screen. We need a hands-on specialist who is as comfortable with a screwdriver as they are with a tablet. You are the "Engine" of the camp—the person who ensures the karts are bolted tight, the drones are synced, and the STEM projects work. If you have no problem assembling flat-pack, fixing your own bike, or troubleshooting gadgets, this is the role for you.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (THE REAL STUFF)

  • The Drone Academy: Managing connectivity between controllers and drone fleets; battery rotation management; designing flight courses and skills challenges.
  • Gravity Grand Prix: Mechanical adjustment of electric Go-Karts (securing bolts, screws, and steering columns); safe marshalling of the track; designing cone lap courses; timing and recording driver performance.
  • Technical Race Tracks: Setting up and maintaining gravity racing systems involving mechanical and electrical components.
  • High-Tension Slingshots: Target setup, safety marshalling, and activity management.
  • Robot Races: Syncing Sphero robots to iPad apps, creating obstacle courses, and troubleshooting Bluetooth/app sync issues on the fly.
  • Safety Lead: Acting as the "Technical Safety Officer" to ensure all physical builds are sturdy, secure, and child-safe.
  • Outdoor Play: Marshalling high-energy events including football, tug-of-war, and team challenges.

WHAT YOU GET

  • Great Pay: £13.00/hr to £15.00/hr + 12.07% Statutory Holiday Pay.
  • £75 Launch Bonus: Awarded for 100% reliability, energy, and technical excellence throughout the week.
  • The Workshop: Access to the best high-end kit in the industry.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • A "Knack" for Assembly: You are good with your hands. You understand bolts, screws, and mechanical adjustments.
  • Gadget-Literate: You understand app-based tech (Bluetooth, tablet interfaces, syncing) and don't get flustered if a connection drops.
  • High Engagement: You can lead a group of kids through a technical build with energy and clarity.
  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is highly preferred.

THE "GOLDEN TICKET"

Preference will be given to candidates holding a Full Level 3 Paediatric First Aid (12-hour) certificate. If you have this, you are our top priority to lead our safety on-site.
