Salary: £50,700

This role is aligned to a grade-based salary framework. For this vacancy, the expected hiring salary is £50,700 , which reflects the intended entry point for the role. Any variation would remain subject to the approved grade framework and governance.

We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our Yeovil Training Academy, and we will provide full, expert training for the role. No prior teaching or military experience is necessary. If you have a solid understanding of avionic systems, a professional attitude, and a positive mindset, you could be the perfect fit.

As an Avionics Training Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping how our customers and colleagues understand and operate cutting-edge helicopter systems. You’ll deliver engaging training, help develop innovative learning materials, and contribute to high-tech synthetic training devices—all with our full support every step of the way.

Location: Yeovil, with flexible and hybrid working options

What you’ll do as an Avionics Instructor:

• Designing and developing clear, effective training content from technical documentation.
• Delivering engaging training sessions to a variety of audiences, both in the UK and occasionally overseas.
• Acting as a subject matter expert for specific avionic systems, with full backup from our experienced team.
• Supporting the creation of advanced flight simulators and synthetic training devices.
• Ensuring all training activities meet the highest standards of safety and compliance.
• Helping to create and invigorate student assessments.

What you’ll bring:

Essential

• A solid understanding of avionic systems.
• A positive, professional attitude and a genuine willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

Desirable

• Experience in aviation, aerospace, or a related technical field (but not mandatory).
• Familiarity with digital tools, but full training will be provided.

This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
