Petroassist UK Ltd is part of the Petrotec Group of Companies. We are a nationwide sales, service and installation business, supplying and maintaining a range of forecourt equipment including Pumps, Payment Terminals, Tank Gauges and other ancillary equipment.

We are looking for an organised and IT-confident Materials Handler to join our Supply Chain team.

This role will act as the central point of enquiry for all material shipments to and from the site. Reporting to the Supply Chain & Facilities Manager, the role will cover stores, goods-in, dispatch and general warehouse duties, with a strong emphasis on computerised stock control, ERP systems, shipping systems and accurate data management.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working with computer systems on a daily basis and will play an important role in ensuring that stock, shipments and logistics information are accurately recorded and kept up to date.

Requirements

• Strong IT and computer skills with confidence using computerised stock and logistics systems
• Previous experience in a similar materials, warehouse, stores or shipping role
• Experience using ERP, stock management or warehouse management systems
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook and email
• Navision ERP experience is highly desirable
• Fork Lift Truck licence preferred, although training can be provided
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when entering and checking information

Position Responsibilities

Working as part of the Parts & Logistics team, you will support the business in the following key tasks:

• Loading and unloading vehicles using forklift trucks
• Checking goods delivered against supplier paperwork and computerised stock systems
• Updating ERP and computer systems with accurate shipping, stock and delivery information
• Using shipping and logistics systems including TNT and BYBOX
• Maintaining accurate electronic records of goods received, dispatched and transferred
• Operation and updating of computerised planning worksheets
• Preparing paperwork and system information for shipping goods to customers and field service engineers via ByBox
• Checking and packing goods for shipments and installation projects
• Arranging shipping of goods for offsite storage when required
• Preparing manual and computerised documentation for shipping purposes
• Picking and packing parts using computerised stock information
• Searching and updating stock records to locate, allocate and track parts
• Supporting accurate stock management through perpetual cycle counts and system reconciliation
• Ensuring products are efficiently stored in their correct locations and that system records accurately reflect physical stock
• Supporting logistics team members with IT and system-based tasks
• General housekeeping and other warehouse duties

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong IT skills and confidence working with computerised systems
• Experience using ERP, stock control, warehouse management or logistics software
• Good Excel, Microsoft Office and email skills
• Ability to learn and adapt to new IT systems quickly
• High level of computer literacy and data accuracy
• Navision ERP experience is desirable
• Experience working within an engineering environment
• Previous materials handling, warehouse, stores or shipping experience
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to accurately enter, retrieve and maintain information on computer systems
• Ability to work in a pressurised environment, adopting a proactive and positive approach
• Ability to work independently and use initiative
• Forklift experience/licence preferred - training can be provided

About You

This is a hands-on warehouse and logistics position, but strong IT and computer skills are an important part of the role. You will be using computerised systems throughout the working day to manage stock, process shipments, update records, complete planning activities and ensure accurate information is available to the wider business.

The ideal candidate will therefore be someone who is equally comfortable working in a warehouse environment and using IT systems. You should be organised, methodical and confident working with data, with a willingness to learn new software and systems.

Possessing a high personal working standard with an emphasis on customer-facing abilities, the successful candidate will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and positive. You will have the ability to perform as a team player, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
