Storm Ventilation Supplies is the fastest growing company in our sector in which we stock and distribute a range of fans, ducting and associated products to the Heating and Ventilation market.

We have a great opportunity at our Basildon branch for a Driver to join our very busy team.

This is a manual role, so you need to be active and fit for this type of work.

The role includes multi-drop deliveries to customers working in the construction sector, primarily to building sites or our customer's premises in and around London and the South East, so experience in all aspects that this entails is important. The vehicle that you will be driving is a Citroen flatbed, Citroen Luton, 3.5T Lorry or similar.

The Driver role will include, but not be limited to:

• Picking products for delivery.
• Packing, loading and unloading delivery vans.
• Delivering products to customers on time and in good condition.
• Maintaining regular communication with the branch office.
• Review deliveries with recipients to ensure they’re accurate.
• Obtaining delivery confirmations from customers.
• Cleaning and maintenance of the van.
• Daily check sheets to ensure the van is kept in good working order.
• Assisting in the warehouse.

Driver skills and qualifications

• Excellent road knowledge.
• Good eyesight and hearing.
• Good timekeeping skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Friendly and professional demeanour.
• Ability to work with little supervision.
• Full UK driving licence.
• A minimum of three years of driving experience is preferred but not essential.
• Good work ethic
• Fit and active
• Full understanding of the UK road laws.

Previous or current penalty points or prior disqualifications would not necessarily mean that we wouldn’t take the application any further, but before a job offer, we would need permission from the applicant to view their driving licence details on the DVLA website.

Your character, approach and attitude will play a big part in our final decision.

Must be enthusiastic and not afraid of working hard.

Ideally, an applicant should have a current forklift truck licence. However, if the applicant demonstrates other required qualities, training for accredited certification will be provided.

You must have a practical approach to all branch duties.

Hours of work 42.5 Monday to Friday 07:00 - 16:00 / 08:00 - 17:00
