Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Room Leader to oversee daily operations and ensure a safe and nurturing environment for children. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education. This role involves supervising staff, engaging with children, and maintaining high standards of care and education.
Duties
- Lead and manage a team of childcare professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure effective operation during shifts.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere for children, staff, and parents.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood education principles.
- Maintain communication with parents regarding their children's progress and well-being.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards within the nursery environment.
- Conduct regular assessments of children's development and provide feedback to parents.
- Manage daily administrative tasks, including staff scheduling, record keeping, and reporting.
- Act as a role model for staff by demonstrating excellent communication skills and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a management or leadership role within a childcare setting is essential.
- Background in early childhood education or related fields is highly desirable.
- Experience working with children in a nursery or educational environment is required.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with children, parents, and staff.
- A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between locations if necessary.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative when required.
