Garden Maintenance Operative (PAYE – Garden Maintenance Team)

Pay:
£24,500 – £26,000 per year

Job Description:
Willow Alexander Gardeners provides professional garden maintenance services to residential and commercial clients across South East London and North Kent.

We are looking for a Garden Maintenance Operative to join one of our maintenance teams. You will work day-to-day alongside a Garden Maintenance Team Leader, supporting the delivery of high-quality garden care across a range of client sites.

This is a hands-on, outdoor role suited to someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in well-kept gardens, and wants to develop their skills within a professional, structured company.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out garden maintenance tasks under the guidance of the Team Leader
  • Lawn mowing, edging, strimming, and general grass care
  • Weeding, pruning, hedge cutting, and general plant maintenance
  • Planting, watering, feeding, and seasonal garden care
  • Assist with garden clearances, tidy-ups, and seasonal cut-backs
  • Safe use of hand tools and power tools
  • Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organised
  • Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures
  • Represent Willow Alexander Gardeners professionally on site

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Good attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual outdoor work

Preferred (but not required):

  • Previous experience in gardening or grounds maintenance
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Basic knowledge of garden tools and plant care
