Job Summary

This role will involve travelling to various sites across Essex and surrounding areas.

As a general builder at KNR you will be responsible for executing a variety of construction tasks, ensuring that all projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise a broad range of construction skills and your expertise will be crucial in contributing to the success of our building projects. We also have roles for labourers, electrician and bathroom fitter. If you have multi-trade experience please contact us.

Responsibilities

  • Setting out bricks, blocks, and stones according to technical specifications and blueprints.
  • Setting out foundation work in advance of brickwork
  • Fabricate and assemble structural components using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
  • Perform general carpentry and joinery work to create precise frameworks and fixtures
  • Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely to move materials and equipment around the site
  • Follow detailed plans and specifications to ensure accurate construction work
  • Assist with site preparation, including groundwork and site clearance
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment to adhere to health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently within deadlines

Requirements

  • Proven experience essential in bricklaying and setting out
  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools essential for various construction tasks
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively
  • Knowledge of construction painting techniques and site safety procedures
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Physical fitness suitable for demanding manual labour tasks
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in construction trades are advantageous but not mandatory
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and follow instructions accurately

Additional skills desirable but not essential;

  • Carpentry
  • Plumbing
  • Plastering

You'll join a friendly team and be part of a growing company. A can-do attitude with a positive outlook is a must. You must have a full driving licence, your own transport and the ability to travel across Essex and surrounding areas.

Day rate is dependent on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £150.00-£220.00 per day

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Essex: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
