Job Title: Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home
Location: Walsall
Salary: From £50,000-£55,000
Job Type: Full-time

About the Role:
We are seeking a committed and experienced Registered Manager to oversee a children’s residential home that supports young people aged 8–18 with complex behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties. This is an opportunity to lead a dedicated team, ensure high standards of care, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the residential home in line with relevant policies and statutory regulations.
  • Manage referrals to maintain full occupancy and build relationships with local authorities.
  • Develop and implement a service plan that promotes high-quality, clinically informed practice.
  • Oversee safeguarding measures and ensure all care plans and risk assessments are in place and regularly updated.
  • Supervise, appraise, and support residential staff; lead recruitment and staff development.
  • Maintain compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Children Act 1989, and related legislation.
  • Manage budgets and financial procedures effectively.
  • Ensure the home is maintained to a high standard and health and safety regulations are followed.
  • Promote the participation and voice of young people in the operation and decisions of the home.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, commissioners, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete within 6 months).
  • Level 3 in Residential Childcare ( or equivalent)
  • At least 2 years’ experience in residential childcare within the last 5 years.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience supervising or managing staff.
  • Strong knowledge of children’s residential care legislation and standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
