Full job description

We are a busy single-handed practice looking for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our friendly team on a permanent, part time basis, one day a week, to start in September 2026.

The post calls for a reliable, proactive and professional person who has good communication skills and a passion for delivering excellent patient care to our practice population.

The successful candidate will hold an NMC registration and within the role you will:

  • Conduct patient assessments and develop care plans.
  • Wound care
  • Child Health Surveillance, including immunisations
  • Manage chronic disease clinics, including diabetes and asthma.
  • Offer family planning advice.
  • Cervical screening
  • Assist with minor surgical procedures.
  • Provide patient education on health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and maintaining patient records.
  • Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.

We achieve excellent QAIF points annually and part of your role will be to take the lead on much of the clinical side of this. You will also work closely with the Practice Manager to maintain high standards of infection control and good clinical protocols.

Hours are negotiable, salary will be dependent on experience but is a good rate of pay.
