Weekend Receptionist

Fountains Lodge Care Home, 13 - 17 London Road, Southborough, Tunbridge

Salary - £12.80 - £13.80 per hour

Permanent contract - 10 or 13 hours per weekend Saturday and Sunday

Fountains Lodge provides personalised nursing and residential care to people living with cognitive impairments, including dementia care. The purpose-built home in Tunbridge Wells offers short stays too (including palliative care), to help both carers and their loved ones at times when they need a break or a little extra support.

All bedrooms are tastefully decorated and offer en-suite facilities, while some come with patio doors providing direct garden access. It also has a suite suitable for couples.

The home has its own café as well as lounges and private dining areas for family and friends to come and enjoy when visiting their loved ones or celebrating a birthday or anniversary together.

Situated in Southborough, the home is a few minutes from all its amenities - shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, and has good transport and road links, making it ideally located for visiting family and friends.

Staff take great care to focus on the person. It's important for residents to feel at home, so it creates a friendly environment with an individually appropriate balance of care and independence.

Enjoying food is an important part of life. The chefs create well-crafted menus made with the freshest ingredients and try to cater for all ethnicity groups. Soon after a resident arrives at Fountains Lodge, staff discuss their personal preferences and dietary needs with them.

There's a real sense of community at the home. The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests. So whether your loved one already has a hobby or would like to take up a new one, there are lots of exciting activities to get involved in.

You'll help us make health happen by:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for all visitors to the home

  • Taking responsibility for managing new enquiries

  • Providing advice and support both face to face and over the phone

  • Conducting show-arounds within the care home

  • Supporting the Home Manager and Administrator with clerical duties such as maintaining paperwork and filing

  • Dealing with enquiries in a timely manner and ensuring daily and weekly tasks are completed

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

You've worked as a receptionist before with experience in providing excellent customer service, you'll have a friendly manner both face to face and over the phone. You're approachable and organised and can build strong relationships with our residents, their families and internal teams. Dedicated and efficient with an ability to handle a varied workload, but importantly, your caring attitude underpins everything you do - to make a real difference to people's lives.
