Job Summary

Pointer Ltd. are recruiting for a Design Engineer where you’ll play a key role in creating cutting-edge solutions, from developing technical proposals to designing system layouts and conducting site surveys. You’ll collaborate with suppliers, engineers, and sales teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in every project.

This role would be suitable for someone looking to progress off the tools but keep up with modern technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with Manufacturers/Suppliers to ensure compatibility of products proposed.
  • Evaluation of products proposed by Manufacturers for suitability.
  • Use innovation to enable the proposal of best value solutions for competitive tenders whilst meeting specification compliance.
  • Awareness of environmental impact from design proposals.
  • Creation of supporting documents, such as; schematic diagrams, cable schedules and power calculations.
  • Visit customer sites to understand local site limitations and requirements.
  • Working closely with the CAD team ensuring accuracy in the creation of drawings.
  • Communicate with Customers, Suppliers and other Contractors to understand and capture system requirements.
  • Submit design documentation for internal review and arrange for issue to clients within agreed timescales.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience in the electronic security industry.
  • Effectively demonstrate a working knowledge of the relevant Industry Standards (NSI).
  • CSCS, or equivalent (desirable): Pointer will arrange for applicable/relevant accreditations through training courses as required
  • Current full driving license.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.
