Senior Practitioner – Children with Disabilities Team
Salary: £44,951 to £53,373 per annum pro-rata
plus £2,000 Golden Hello and £2,000 Annual Retention Allowance
Location: Civic Centre Bromley and working from home (Hybrid)
Contract: Part Time, 4 days a week.
Senior Practitioner - Job Description
The London Borough of Bromley are looking for a Senior Practitioner to join our friendly hard-working team who want to make a difference in the lives of children with disabilities. This role is part-time, working 4 days a week.
About the Role:
The team is part of the 0-25 Service for Children and Young People with Disabilities, which includes teams offering Occupational Therapy, Preparing for Adulthood and Short Breaks. The post is within the Children with Disabilities Team, supporting children 0-18 and their families.
Applicants are required to have a good breadth of knowledge, experience of safeguarding is essential and previous experience of disability an advantage. You will need an understanding of child development and family functioning. Social workers in the team carry a mixed case load which includes safeguarding, child and family assessments, court work, duty, and children looked after.
We adhere to statutory procedures and timescales. You will work with children who have severe and profound disability and/or complex health needs. We provide short breaks for children who are eligible.
You will report to a Team Manager; you will be part of a busy team delivering a high level of social work support to children and families. Your priority will be ensuring the safety and well-being of the children we work with. You will work closely with Education and Health, and colleagues in other teams.
Flexible Working: Social workers are expected to undertake face to face visits to families. All social workers are expected to be in the office 2 days a week for full time and pro-rata for part time.
Caseloads: Manageable caseload
Applicants must hold a Degree in Social Work, (or equivalent), and must be registered with Social Worker England.
