Rejecting candidates

Rejecting a candidate lets them know they will not move forward in the recruitment process. This helps jobseekers move on to their next application. It also supports your credibility as a company. In this article, we'll explain two ways to inform candidates that they've been rejected.

Setting a rejection automation

What it is

  • Send a no-reply email to candidates three days after their status changes to Rejected.
  • Candidates you reject manually or who are auto-rejected by the required screener questions will receive this scheduled email.
When you turn this automation on, it applies to all your jobs.

How it works

  1. Navigate to your Employer Dashboard.
  2. Select Tools from the menu on the left-hand side of the screen.
  3. Click or tap Automations.
  4. Select Email rejected candidates.
  5. Write your Message template and the Automation name.
  6. Click or tap Turn on to set up the rejection automation.

Did you know? You can edit or turn off the automation at any time in the My automations dashboard.

Sending a rejection letter
