Writing effective job descriptions and titles
Writing a good job post helps you find the right people for your job. On Indeed, good job titles and descriptions help more people see your jobs. They also help you attract better candidates.
How to write a good job title
A clear and concise job title helps jobseekers quickly understand the role and its level. This improves the chances of them finding and applying to your job.
Keep it short and clear.
Explain what the job is.
If you want a person from a certain field, add that to the job title. For example, 'Pharmaceutical Sales Representative' is better than 'Sales Representative'.
Say what the job level is.
If the job is for a certain level, like a junior role, you can add that. For example, 'Junior Accountant' is clear.
Don't use:
Titles that are too long
Short forms or numbers that jobseekers won't know
Exclamation marks
