Running an Indeed Interview Hiring Event
After creating a Hiring Event, you’re ready to start interviewing. This article will explain how to access your virtual interview lobby and run your event.
Accessing the lobby
You'll receive an email from Indeed with a link to Join the interview lobby. If you haven't received this email, ask the event organiser to add you as an interviewer. We strongly recommend that you sign in one day before the event to make sure everything is set up properly.
As soon as you join the lobby, you'll have access to the Hiring Event. You can start interviewing as soon as the event begins. For the best experience, we recommend running your event with Google Chrome.
Adding interviewers
- Go to your Hiring Event dashboard.
- Open the three-dot menu next to your status.
- Select Invite interviewers.
- Enter the email addresses of the interviewers you'd like to add.
Messaging candidates
When they join the event
Set a welcome message for candidates joining the event. You can set this message before your interview or event date.
- Open the three-dot menu next to your status.
- Select Update welcome message.
- Enter your welcome message.
- Select Save.
When they're waiting in the lobby
You can make an announcement to candidates waiting in the lobby. This feature is helpful if interviews are running behind or you have a large number of candidates in the lobby.
- Open the three-dot menu next to your status.
- Select Make announcement.
- Enter your announcement message.
- Select Save.
Starting or joining an interview
Select I'm ready to interview or set your status to active to make yourself available to join or start an interview. Set your status to Away at any time to take a break.
In the Interviewing tab, you'll see the option to Start interview next to the candidate's name or Join interview. The second option lets you join a panel-style interview in progress.
Ending an interview
Ending the call
When the interview time slot is over, you'll see a pop-up window to complete the interview.
- Select Yes if you're done interviewing the candidate. End the call and provide feedback on whether the candidate is a good fit.
- If you want the candidate to return to the lobby and be interviewed by someone else, select No and end the call. Alert the next interviewer that the candidate is ready.
Returning a candidate to the lobby
Once the candidate returns to the lobby, they must return to the waiting room and join the interview room. The candidate must take these actions on their end; support can't place a user back in the interview room.
When the interview is complete, the interviewer must select End call.
Ending the event
End the event when you're finished interviewing all candidates and are ready to close the entire Virtual Hiring Event. For multi-day events, don't end the event until the final day.
- Open the three-dot menu and select End interviewing.
- Select the red Yes, end interviewing button.
FAQs
Question: Can I view recorded interviews?
Answer: Yes. If recording was enabled for the Hiring Event and you were an interviewer, you’ll get an email with a link to view the recording. Ask your Indeed Representative to generate a new link if you accidentally deleted it.
