Creating an employer account on Indeed

Create and verify an employer account to post jobs and manage hiring on Indeed.

10 min

Before you start

Indeed has two account types:

  • Standard user account: Your personal account (also called a jobseeker account)
  • Employer account: For posting jobs and managing recruitment

When you create an employer account, you'll automatically create a standard account, too.

Does your company already have an account? Don't create a duplicate. Ask your administrator to add you as a user instead.

  1. Step 1: Create or sign in to your Indeed account

Go to Indeed For Employers and click Post a job. You can create an account using your email address or sign in with Google or Apple. If prompted, follow the steps to verify your email address.

Tip: Using your work email will make it easier to verify your account later. Learn more about email requirements.
  2. Step 2: Fill in your company info and the job details

After clicking Post a job, you'll fill in your company details. The company name you enter here will appear on the jobs you post on Indeed.

Follow the prompts to post your first job on Indeed. We'll ask for information about the job and your recruitment goals.

  3. Step 3: Verify your account

Complete the account verification. This confirms that you work for the company. You can choose from four verification methods.

Jobs you post on Indeed won't go live until your account is verified.

  4. Step 4: Protect your account

Add a verified phone number or authenticator app. This helps protect your account with two-factor authentication (2FA).

Why 2FA matters: It blocks unauthorised access. Only verified users can access your company's information.
