Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across designated routes, ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires a strong focus on safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage delivery schedules effectively.

Duties

  • Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries
  • Load and unload goods safely, ensuring proper securing of cargo
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any faults or issues
  • Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any unforeseen delays
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations during transit and loading operations
  • Assist with general vehicle maintenance as required

Requirements

  • Valid UK driving licence suitable for Class 1 vehicles, with a clean driving record
  • Proven experience as a delivery driver, as job is a mixture of RDC deliveries and store deliveries
  • Strong knowledge of road safety laws and regulations within the UK
  • Ability to operate commercial vehicles confidently and responsibly
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage delivery schedules efficiently
  • Good physical fitness for loading, unloading, and securing cargo
  • Shifts start at 5AM or 5PM on a 12 hour basis
