Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class 1 Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and excellent driving skills, particularly with flatbed vehicles. Some nights out may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a curtainsider HGV to deliver goods to various locations.
  • Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, securing loads properly.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is roadworthy.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage and fuel consumption.
  • Adhere to all local, regional, and national traffic laws while driving.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
  • Provide excellent customer service during interactions with clients at delivery points.

Qualifications

  • Valid Commercial Driving Licence (CDL) or equivalent is essential.
  • Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with Class 1 vehicles.
  • Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and practices.
  • Ability to navigate using GPS systems and maps effectively.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • A clean driving record and driver CPC with no major violations is preferred.
  • Good physical fitness to handle the demands of loading and unloading cargo.
