Full job description

Location: Hemel Hempstead
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Shift: Monday night to Saturday morning
Driver Type: PAYE or LTD drivers considered
Vehicle: Class 1 Double Decker Trailer

We are looking for an experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to join our transport operation in Hemel Hempstead, working on a regular night trunking operation.

The role will involve driving a Double Decker trailer from our depot to the hub and returning back to our depot.

Working Pattern

  • Start: Approximately 8:00pm Monday evening
  • Finish: Approximately 7:00am Saturday morning
  • Night work throughout the week
  • Some flexibility is required around start and finish times depending on operational requirements
  • Regular trunking work between our depot and hub
  • Based from Hemel Hempstead

Key Requirements

  • Full Class 1 (C+E) licence
  • Good recent Class 1 driving experience
  • Double Decker trailer experience is essential
  • Experience with a significant amount of motorway and road work
  • Comfortable dealing with road closures, diversions and changing traffic conditions
  • Good knowledge of UK roads and motorway network
  • Reliable, punctual and professional
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work independently and manage night-time operations
  • Must have a flexible approach to working hours
  • Good understanding of vehicle safety and daily defect checks
