Full job description

About Pro Landscapes

Pro Landscapes MDX Ltd is a rapidly growing, multi-depot commercial grounds maintenance, arboriculture and infrastructure services contractor operating across the South East and beyond.

We deliver long-term contracts for local authorities, highways, utilities, and large commercial clients, with a strong pipeline of framework tenders and repeat business. As part of our continued growth strategy, we are seeking an experienced Bid Writer to take ownership of our end-to-end tender submissions and improve win rates across high-value public-sector contracts.

This is a senior, hands-on role suited to someone who understands how tenders are actually scored — not just written.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing and writing high-quality tender submissions for public-sector and large commercial clients, including local authorities, utilities, and framework agreements.

You will work closely with Directors, Operations, Health & Safety, and Compliance teams to produce clear, compelling, and fully compliant submissions that score highly against published evaluation criteria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end bid process, from opportunity review through to final submission
  • Method statements
  • Quality questions
  • Social value
  • Environmental sustainability
  • Health & Safety and compliance sections
  • Analyse tender documentation, scoring matrices, and evaluation criteria to shape responses strategically
  • Develop and maintain a bid library of core responses, policies, and evidence
  • Coordinate inputs from internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Ensure all submissions are fully compliant, well-structured, and submitted on time
  • Review feedback from unsuccessful bids and implement continuous improvement
  • Support case studies, accreditations, and evidence updates

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience as a Bid Writer within:
  • Public sector
  • Local authority
  • Utilities
  • Infrastructure / FM / Grounds / Arboriculture / Construction sectors

Strong understanding of:

  • ITTs, PQQs, SQs, and framework submissions
  • Scoring methodologies and quality weighting
  • Compliance-heavy tender environments
  • Ability to write clear, persuasive, evidence-based responses under deadline pressure
  • Excellent written English and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001)
  • Experience with grounds maintenance, arboriculture, highways or FM contracts
  • Understanding of social value, environmental, and sustainability criteria

Desirable (But Not Essential)

  • Experience using portals such as:
  • Delta
  • Proactis
  • In-Tend
  • Jaggaer
  • Contracts Finder

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Performance-related bonus linked to bid success
  • Flexible hybrid working (UK-based)
  • Direct access to Directors and decision-makers
  • Opportunity to shape and own the bid function
  • Long-term career progression within a growing group

Who This Role Is For

✔ An experienced bid writer who wants ownership, not admin

✔ Someone commercially aware, not just technically compliant

✔ A professional who understands that winning work is as important as writing well

How to Apply

Please apply with your CV and a brief cover note outlining:

  • Your bid writing experience
  • Sectors you have worked in
  • Examples of high-value or framework bids you have supported or led

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £38,000.00-£48,575.28 per year

Benefits:

  • Company pension
  • On-site parking
  • Work from home
