Sometimes, a Beautician recommends patients to medical practitioners such as plastic surgeons, physiotherapists and dermatologists.

Beauticians also up-sell and cross-sell various beauty services and products to walk-in customers. Their working hours vary depending on the requirements of the salon or beauty Centrex in which they work. Larger salons operate two or three shifts that cover evenings and the weekend.
