Industry experience and knowledge of the subject matter is an advantage, but strong research skills and the ability to retain useful information are also important. Previous roles in marketing or design are a plus. Many Copywriters have their own blogs or websites that showcase their work or portfolios with examples of their previous work to demonstrate their skills.
Copywriter education and training requirements
Copywriters typically have a Degree in English, Journalism, Communication Studies or a related subject. They can sometimes have a Diploma from a Technical College.Some only have a high-school diploma. Specialist Copywriters have a degree in a particular subject and additional writing qualifications.
