Process Engineers are responsible for the methods, system and equipment used in a manufacturing facility to convert raw materials into their final product form. They ensure the smooth operation of factories, plants and production facilities. Their main duties and responsibilities include:

Purpose of Job The purpose of this job is to support the production process by collecting and analysing data, troubleshooting production related issues. This role will support the successful completion of process improvement and capital development projects. The candidate will gain valuable insight into the full process flow of a commercial scale wood manufacturing company from the forest right through to the kiln drying, planing & grading process. Reports to Site Managrer Experience Honours degree course in a relevant science, manufacturing, production or engineering course. The minimum entry requirement for a Process Engineer position is a bachelor’s degree in chemical, industrial, biochemical, mechanical engineering or a related field. For a senior-level Project Engineer position, candidates with a master’s degree or doctorate in manufacturing, chemical or material process engineering is preferable. Many employers prefer candidates with a chartered (CEng) status with the Engineering Council, as it shows the candidate’s commitment and professionalism to the field. They also prefer candidates who have a certification in Six Sigma or completed training in techniques and tools of process improvement.
