National Field Engineer - Mitel & Networking

Location: Home-based (Coventry/Birmingham area) with national UK & Ireland travel

Package: £38,500 - £45,250 + Company Car + Fully Expensed Travel + Benefits + future on call team salary uplift once qualified/knowledge and tech gap training completed.

About the Role

We're seeking a technically-strong, hands-on Field Engineer who thrives on variety and solving real-world problems. If you have 3-5 years minimum of Mitel experience and enjoy being the expert who rolls up their sleeves to make things work, this national role offers exceptional technical challenge without the call center environment.

You'll be home-based in the Midlands, traveling nationally across the UK and Ireland (approx. 60-70% travel, fully expensed) to client sites many within a day trip range, some not and requiring overnight stays.

You will provide hands-on troubleshooting for Mitel MiVoice Business systems and their supporting IP networking infrastructure, ensuring proper QoS and VLAN configuration for optimal voice quality.

This isn't a desk-bound support role or security specialisation, it's about implementing, troubleshooting, and optimising Mitel platforms and their supporting network infrastructure where they matter most: on-site with our clients.

What You'll Be Doing

• Hands-On Mitel Work: Install, configure, and troubleshoot Mitel systems, with exposure to platforms like MiVoice Business (3300 series), MiCloud, and MiVoice.
• Network Integration: Ensure seamless operation by supporting the underlying IP network switches, routers, firewalls, QoS for optimal voice performance. Networking tech stack includes Cisco, HPE, Cisco Meraki and Aruba to name a few.
• Project Delivery: Lead small to medium deployment and upgrade projects from pre-staging to cut-over and handover.
• Escalated Support: Be the on-site expert resolving complex technical issues that can't be fixed remotely.
• Client Partnership: Work directly with clients to understand their needs, provide training, and build trusted relationships.

What We're Looking For (The Must-Haves)

You're the right fit if this describes your background:

• Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on technical experience with Mitel platforms. You don't need to know every product line inside out, but you should have solid, practical experience with core systems like the 3300 series, MiCloud, or MiVoice.
• A fundamental understanding of IP networking (VLANs, DHCP, QoS, routing). You know why voice traffic needs prioritisation and how to make it happen.
• A genuine preference for fieldwork and problem-solving over repetitive, call-center-style ticket queues.
• A full UK driving licence and a positive attitude towards national travel (all costs covered, company car provided).
• The ability to work autonomously, manage your own schedule, and communicate clearly with both technical teams and end-users.
• Report or fault notes and solution quality ticket writer, you have colleagues and they have to use your work and notes as well over time because client work is shared and you could be on holiday in the future and unavailable to help.

What's Not Required (Let's Be Clear)

• Experience in a high-volume call center or helpdesks environment as your primary role.
• Specialisation in cybersecurity or physical security systems.
• Expertise in every single Mitel product. We value strong fundamentals and a willingness to learn. Training will be provided.

IMPORTANT
