Full job description

The Hackney | East London

About The Hackney Located on Hackney Road, The Hackney is a premier café-bar and event space, hosting over 100 high-profile weddings, brand activations, and corporate receptions annually. We are known for our curated aesthetic and flawless execution. Our clients include global brands and discerning private hosts who expect nothing less than exceptional, proactive service.

As our 2026 events calendar expands, we are looking for seasoned Front of House professionals to join our core events team.

The Role

This is a high-energy, hands-on role for a hospitality professional who thrives under the "live" pressure of an event. You won't just be carrying plates; you will be an ambassador for the venue, ensuring seamless transitions from ceremony to reception. You will work alongside an expert management team to deliver polished service from the initial guest arrival through to the final breakdown.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expert Service: Delivering confident, high-standard F&B service for seated wedding breakfasts and fast-paced standing receptions.
  • Guest Experience: Managing guest flow and acting as a primary point of contact for high-capacity events.
  • Operational Excellence: Executing precise room turns and event set-ups within strict timelines.
  • Brand Ambassadorship: Maintaining a sharp professional appearance and ensuring the venue remains "photo-ready" at all times.
  • Problem Solving: Anticipating guest needs and resolving minor logistical challenges with poise and discretion.

About You

Note: This is an experienced-level role. We are looking for individuals who have already mastered the fundamentals of event hospitality.

  • Proven Track Record: Solid experience in event-led hospitality (weddings, galas, or high-end standing receptions).
  • Composure: You remain calm and professional in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
  • Detail-Oriented: You notice the small things—a stray glass, a guest looking for a drink, or a slightly misaligned table setting.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal English and the ability to coordinate effectively with bar and kitchen teams.
  • Flexibility: Availability for weekend and evening shifts is essential.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Pay: Rewarding your experience and reliability.
  • Total Flexibility: An easy-to-manage schedule where you choose the dates that work for you.
  • Dynamic Environment: Work on a diverse portfolio of events, from intimate luxury weddings to global brand launches.
  • Career Growth: Opportunity for lead roles and progression within our growing venue group.
  • Culture: A supportive, professional, and high-energy team environment in the heart of East London.

Job Types: Part-time, Zero-hours, Permanent, Temporary
