Property Inspector
Location: Manchester (travel across Greater Manchester required)Job Type: Full-timeSalary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and organised Property Inspector to join our growing property management team.
You will be responsible for carrying out inspections across our residential property portfolio, identifying maintenance issues, assessing properties against housing standards, and working closely with local authorities to ensure our properties remain compliant and well maintained.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in property, housing, building maintenance or inspections who enjoys working independently while being part of a professional team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled and ad-hoc property inspections across our portfolio.
- Inspect properties against the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
- Identify repairs, defects and potential health and safety hazards.
- Produce clear inspection reports with photographs and recommendations.
- Liaise with contractors regarding required works and monitor progress where necessary.
- Work closely with local authorities and council officers during inspections and compliance matters.
- Ensure properties meet all relevant housing and safety standards.
- Report urgent issues promptly and assist in prioritising remedial works.
- Maintain accurate digital records of inspections and property conditions.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Organised and detail-oriented.
- Confident working independently.
- Comfortable using tablets or mobile devices to complete inspection reports.
- A good communicator with both tenants and professionals.
- Able to prioritise workload effectively.
- Professional and approachable.
Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:
- Property inspections
- Housing management
- Building maintenance
- Local authority or social housing
- HHSRS
- Property compliance
- Facilities management
- Building surveying
Full training can be provided for the right candidate.
Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Willingness to travel across Greater Manchester.
- Good IT skills.
- Right to work in the UK.
