We Are Looking for an Experienced Butler to Join a UHNW Private Family

We are seeking an experienced, polished and highly professional Butler to join a fully staffed private household in London.

The successful candidate will provide excellent front-of-house service, support the smooth daily running of the residence and work closely with the House Manager and wider household team. We are looking for someone discreet, organised, flexible and naturally service-focused, with exceptional attention to detail.

Main Responsibilities

  • Providing formal and informal food and beverage service
  • Preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks and refreshments
  • Table setting, table service and clearing
  • Welcoming guests and providing discreet front-of-house service
  • Preparing the residence for family arrivals, guests and events
  • Maintaining dining rooms, service areas, silverware, glassware and tableware
  • Managing household inventories, including drinks and service supplies
  • Packing and unpacking for travel
  • Supporting wardrobe, luggage and valet duties when required
  • Liaising with the House Manager, chefs, housekeepers and other household staff
  • Assisting with household events and last-minute requests
  • Ensuring the highest standards of presentation, discretion and service at all times

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Butler within a high-standard private household, luxury hotel, yacht or similar environment
  • Excellent knowledge of formal and informal service
  • Confident food and beverage service skills
  • Strong knowledge of table setting, silverware, glassware and fine tableware
  • Professional appearance and excellent personal presentation
  • Calm, discreet and respectful manner
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Flexible and able to respond calmly to changing priorities
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Fluent spoken English
  • Excellent references and the right to work in the UK
  • A full driving licence would be an advantage
