Full job description

Overview
We have an opportunity for an air conditioning engineer to join our experienced team of engineers. The successful candidate will have already gained some experience within the air conditioning sector and be looking to develop their career further. We are a family-owned business based in Bristol with projects throughout the UK mainly in the Bristol and south Wales.

Your work will range from air conditioning installations to maintenance and servicing with support from our senior engineers where required. Our work is site based which can involve some travel or staying away – hotels and overnight expense allowance would be provided.

You should have good team working and communication skills and hold a F-Gas certificate and CSCS card.

We will provide a competitive salary (based on experience) together with a van, pension and overtime. Working hours are 8-4.30 Monday – Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and test air conditioning units in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure systems operate efficiently and effectively.
  • Diagnose faults using schematics and technical manuals, then perform repairs or replacements of faulty components.
  • Repair and service various types of HVAC equipment, including chillers, heat pumps, and ventilation systems.
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and system performance for compliance and future reference.
  • Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations and industry standards.

Skills

  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics and technical diagrams.
  • Proven experience in equipment repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting within air conditioning or HVAC environments.
  • Knowledge of construction processes related to HVAC system installation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to diagnosing issues.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with clients, suppliers, and team members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
