Full job description

About Us
We are a fast-paced, family-run interiors and furniture company working with schools, colleges and commercial clients across the UK. We’re growing our marketing activity and looking for a creative, efficient person to help us deliver day-to-day campaigns, social media content and product website updates.

The Role
We're looking for a creative, organised and energetic individual who can support our marketing lead with email campaigns, research, content creation, collation and basic Shopify updates, while also creating on-brand graphics and social media content in Canva. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys getting things done efficiently and to a high standard, working with our team to deliver value and to excite our customers.

We’re initially looking for a hands-on person to join us for a 3-6 month period to help us get key marketing projects delivered, with the option of a more permanent role afterwards and ongoing opportunities for promotion for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and schedule email marketing campaigns and newsletters from existing templates/briefs
  • Help segment, clean and update marketing contact lists and spreadsheets
  • Carry out online research (prospect lists, events, competitors, example sites)
  • Organise project imagery, testimonials and case study content
  • Create and update brochures, PDFs, leaflets and slide decks in Canva
  • Design social media graphics and posts for LinkedIn and Instagram in line with brand guidelines
  • Produce simple short-form videos/reels from existing footage for web, social and events
  • Prepare artwork for exhibitions and printed collateral using existing brand assets
  • Make light content changes in Shopify (copy, images, product data from spreadsheets)
  • Check web pages for layout/consistency issues and flag anything more technical

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a marketing assistant, content creator or similar role
  • Good people skills to integrate with our team in Colchester
  • Good telephone and email skills for speaking with event and exhibition organisers
  • Strong Canva skills for social media graphics, layouts and simple video editing
  • Some hands-on experience with Shopify (or a similar CMS) – editing pages and products
  • Confident using Excel/Google Sheets for lists and basic data management
  • Good written English for captions, emails and light copy editing
  • Comfortable working to deadlines in a busy, fast-moving environment

Personal Qualities

  • Organised and able to work from a task board without constant supervision
  • Creative but pragmatic – able to suggest ideas and then execute them efficiently
  • Attention to detail with a strong sense of brand and visual consistency
  • Friendly, positive and comfortable working in a small, close-knit team

Hours & Salary

  • Part-time hours – to be agreed (e.g. 16–24 hours per week or similar)
  • Salary dependent on experience

How to Apply
Please apply with your CV, a short cover note explaining why you’re a good fit for this role, and (if available) examples or a portfolio of Canva/social media/content creation work or examples of previous Shopify experience.
