Full job description

About Forever Spaces

Forever Spaces is a bespoke interiors company based in Haddington, East Lothian. We design, manufacture, and install kitchens, bedrooms, and bathrooms — all with our own in-house team. Established in 2015, we serve homeowners across East Lothian, Edinburgh, Midlothian, and the Scottish Borders who value craftsmanship managed from first sketch to installation.

We are not a volume operation. We take on projects that allow us to do our best work, and we give our designers the time and tools to produce exceptional results. Our average wardrobe project is £4,000–£6,000, with walk-in dressing rooms reaching £30,000–£40,000.

The Role

We are looking for a Wardrobe Sales Designer to join our design team at our Haddington showroom. This is a client-facing role that combines creative design with consultative selling — you will take a project from first conversation through to payment at point of order.

What you will do

· Design bespoke storage solutions — fitted wardrobes, walk-in dressing rooms, home offices, media walls, and other built-in cabinetry, using our CAD software and material library.

· Conduct site surveys — visit clients' homes to measure spaces, understand their needs, and build rapport.

· Present and sell designs — create compelling presentations at our showroom, walking clients through multiple options across different styles and budgets.

· Convert enquiries into orders — manage your own pipeline from initial enquiry through design development to close. You own the client relationship until handover to our project management team.

· Collaborate with our manufacturing team — ensure your designs are buildable, cost-effective, and delivered on time.

· Contribute to the showroom experience — help maintain displays, advise walk-in visitors, and represent Forever Spaces to every person who comes through the door.

· Write detailed fitting instructions – for the installation team to understand how to fit the project and for the ordering team to check and make sure everything is correct for the project.

Who we are looking for Essentially

· A genuine interest in interior design, architecture, or how people use their living spaces.

· Strong spatial awareness — you can look at a room and see possibilities others miss.

· Confidence in client-facing situations — you enjoy building relationships and guiding people through decisions.

· Attention to detail — measurements, specifications, and finishes must be precise.

· A drive to achieve — you are motivated by targets, full of energy and take pride in winning work through the quality of your designs.

· Full UK driving licence (site surveys require travel across our service area).

Desirable (but not required — we will train the right person)

· Experience with CAD or kitchen/bedroom design software.

· Background in interior design, furniture design, joinery, or a related trade.

· Previous sales experience, particularly in a consultative or high-value environment.

· Knowledge of materials, hardware, and manufacturing processes for fitted furniture.

What we offer

· A role in a growing company with a clear path — we are scaling from £1.4m to £3m turnover and need designers who will grow with us.

· A supportive, skilled team — you will work alongside experienced designers, joiners, and project managers who care about the work.

· A stunning showroom environment with real products you can touch and demonstrate.

· Training on our systems, materials, and design process — we invest in our people.

· The satisfaction of seeing your designs manufactured and installed by our own team, not sent off to a faceless factory.

· Competitive salary £29,000 base depending on experience with 2-5% sales commission on every sale. Based on a 40 hour week
