Care Assistant - Complex Care

Trowbridge, Wiltshire

Healthcare Assistant – Complex Care (Trowbridge)

£15.20 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
Day/Night shifts available

At Harmony Healthcare, we believe exceptional care is delivered by exceptional people.

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join a specialist complex care package supporting a young male living in a rural area of Trowbridge (BA14).

This is a rewarding opportunity for an HCA who has strong experience supporting individuals with epilepsy, seizures and complex care needs, and who enjoys working with teenagers and supporting their independence.

Role Details

Location: Trowbridge – BA14
Pay: £15.20 per hour – flat rate, including holiday pay
Shifts: Monday–Friday, 08:00am–17:00pm day shifts
Driver: Essential due to the rural location and limited public transport
Petrol cover: Petrol costs will be covered for transporting the service user from their home to college and back home

Essential Experience & Skills

We are looking for candidates with experience in:

  • Multifocal epilepsy

  • Tonic-clonic seizures

  • Seizure management

  • Vagal nerve stimulators (VNS)

  • Working with teenagers

  • Supporting service users in college/education settings

  • Complex care and risk management

  • Providing calm, responsive support during and following seizures

‍ ️ About the Package

The individual is independently able to manage their personal care but requires close supervision and support due to seizure-related risks.

You will be supporting a 19-year-old male who is currently studying a Level 3 Art course at college. Having a keen interest in art would be an advantage when supporting the client, as it could help build rapport, encourage engagement, and support participation in creative activities.

As well as this, you will need to be confident responding to seizure activity, following the individualised care plan and providing appropriate support when required, including awareness of rescue medication and seizure-related breathing difficulties.

  • Who We're Looking For

We want someone who is:

✔ Experienced in complex care
✔ Confident managing seizures
✔ Calm and reassuring in challenging situations
✔ Reliable, patient and compassionate
✔ Comfortable working with teenagers
✔ Able to support independence and safety
✔ A driver with access to suitable transport
✔ Committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care

If you have the right experience and are looking for a rewarding complex care role where you can make a genuine difference, we would love to hear from you.

Apply now to join this specialist care package in Trowbridge (BA14).
