Job Summary:

Al-Rushd Independent School is a growing online British curriculum school with an Islamic ethos, providing high quality education to students worldwide. We are committed to academic excellence, student progress, and creating a supportive online learning environment where students can thrive.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to teach students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will be passionate about mathematics, committed to raising attainment, and confident in delivering engaging online lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Learning

  • Plan and deliver engaging, interactive, and high quality Mathematics lessons in line with the British Curriculum.
  • Prepare students effectively for assessments and GCSE examinations.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.
  • Foster a positive and productive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
  • Monitor student progress and implement intervention strategies where required.

Assessment and Feedback

  • Mark work promptly and provide constructive feedback.
  • Track student attainment and progress accurately.
  • Prepare reports and communicate student progress to parents and the leadership team.
  • Use assessment data to inform teaching and support student development.

Student Support

  • Provide academic support and guidance to students requiring additional assistance.
  • Encourage students to develop confidence, resilience, and independent learning skills.
  • Work collaboratively with pastoral and support staff to ensure students reach their full potential.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
  • Maintain accurate records using the school's systems and platforms.
  • Uphold the school's values, safeguarding procedures, and professional standards at all times.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
  • Experience teaching Mathematics at Key Stage 3 and/or Key Stage 4.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and understanding of the British Curriculum.
  • Strong command of mathematical concepts and effective communication skills.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Reliable internet connection and a professional home-working environment.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office packages for lesson preparation, teaching, documentation, and communication with both staff and students.
  • Confident using Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office, and online learning technologies.
  • Patience and adaptability in a virtual teaching environment.
  • Passion for education and a commitment to student success.
  • Must have a stable internet connection and a suitable working space at home for virtual teaching.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £15.00-£24.00 per hour
