This is a high-visibility, strategic role designed for a professional who thrives on relationship building and is ready to act as the primary bridge between our global business operations and our IT department. DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
This role is structured around four critical areas of responsibility:
1. Strategic Relationship Management
Building and maintaining trusted partnerships with Business Leaders to deeply understand their strategic goals.
Acting as the primary liaison and advocate for business needs within IT planning and strategy sessions.
Managing senior-level communications, ensuring transparency regarding progress, risks, and expected outcomes.
2. Demand Management & Road mapping
Developing and maintaining 12-24 month technology roadmaps that align IT initiatives with business priorities and resource capacity.
Implementing a governance framework to ensure all project requests are properly vetted and aligned with business value before execution.
3. Value Realisation
Collaborating with stakeholders during project scoping to define clear benefits and success metrics.
Following up post-delivery to ensure the business actually realizes the intended value and reviewing outcomes against original objectives.
4. Strategic Support & Risk Mitigation
Serving as the senior business contact during major incidents to manage impact and communication.
Identifying strategic risks and opportunities.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Strategic IT Alignment: Experience in managing department demand and aligning IT roadmaps to long-term business goals.
- Stakeholder Management: A proven track record of engaging with EMT-level stakeholders and navigating complex projects with senior management.
- Process Excellence: Knowledge of key business processes (Finance, Ops, Sales) and how IT can enable and streamline these functions.
- Project & PMO Insight: Broad experience in managing high-risk, high-visibility projects and a strong familiarity with PMO/Steering Committee functions.
- Risk Management: Ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with business-critical systems or new technology implementations.
Required Competencies
- Communication & Influence: The ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and convince leaders to embrace new IT-driven solutions.
- Business Acumen: A deep understanding of how to link technology to business value and profitability.
- Problem Solving: A creative mindset to identify business challenges and architect IT-driven resolutions.
Required Work Experience
- Strong experience in Business Relationship Management (BRM) or high-level Project Management.
- Proven track record of navigating executive-level expectations in a global matrix environment.
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level (high grade) or above.
- BA & PM certifications preferred.
Travel
- This role may involve travel to both UK and overseas sites.
