Our well-established manufacturing client based in Bradford, West Yorkshire have a current opening for a Rewinder/Inspection Operative to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.
The primary objective of the Rewind Inspection Operative is for the rewind and packaging of the finished product and then pack it for delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ability to identify & understand finishing specification on work
  • Locate correct printed reels relating to individual job cards
  • Thread web through machine following correct route, set blades for slitting web to finishing specification
  • Setting of clock counter for final reelage
  • Setting of machine tensions for specific materials using controls
  • Using strobe light, visual checks & print fault flags remove waste and poor quality print & rewind reels to final finishing specification as per job cards correctly identifying core size required
  • Packaging of finished reels for dispatch, including marking all boxes with ID Codes, Number of Rolls and Reelage
  • Responsible for correct packaging for transportation, minimizing possibility of damage during transport
  • Ensuring that all operations are carried out and complete necessary paperwork/Job cards completed to ISO standards as outlined in company manuals
  • Responsibility for keeping a clean & organised working environment
  • Working to strict deadlines whilst maintaining quality control
  • Responsible for checking off other rewind inspectors 1st off reels
Others duties to include:
  • Emptying waste skip
  • Palletising waste ink tubes
  • Monitoring ink stock levels
  • Wrap pallets using pallet wrapper when requested
  • Daily checking of guards
  • Maintenance of blades
  • Calibrate machine to correct core size as cutting
Additional/Key Skills:
  • Good understanding of print
  • Good communication & organisation skills
  • Perform pre-press duties in an efficient, professional and courteous manner
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office 2010 - idc level Tharsten to basic level
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public
  • Communicate and liaise verbally and in writing between customers/suppliers/visitors and relevant staff, and interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions
  • Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role
  • Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures

This role will be well suited to a candidate that is willing to use their own initiative, work as part of a team and get involved in all aspects of the role. There is plenty of room for a career progression within the company if you show a willing!
You will initially start this role on a day shift, for the first 2-3 weeks of employment to enable you to carry out a full training programme; this will be Monday to Friday 08.00am – 5.00pm. After this period, you will be working rotating shift patterns Monday – Friday; these will be 6.00am – 2.00pm, 2.00pm – 10.00pm & 10.00pm – 6.00am. The rate of pay for this role is £6.08 per hour, increasing to £6.92 per hour after the training period. Weekend work will occasionally be required, and may be across two sites; therefore flexibility for this role is crucial. There is also a pension scheme in place, after 12 months service, you will also receive 23 days holiday + statutory holidays.
