About the role:

As an Account Manager, you’ll be the primary point of contact for our clients, building strong relationships, understanding their project needs, and ensuring each job runs smoothly from start to finish.

No two days are the same. In this role, you’ll be:

  • Quoting for clients and managing project enquiries
  • Checking on job progress and resolving any issues
  • Liaising with our technical team to ensure project milestones are met
  • Using the CRM to track, update, and manage project workflows
  • Visiting clients on-site to strengthen relationships and oversee developments
  • Collaborating across teams to keep delivery on time and on budget

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture long-term client relationships
  • Gain a deep understanding of client goals and utility requirements
  • Act as the key communication link between clients and internal teams
  • Contribute to new business through both inbound leads and outbound activity
  • Manage quotes, proposals, and front-end admin via the CRM system
  • Plan and organise multiple live jobs with attention to detail
  • Negotiate pricing and timelines with clients
  • Manage change effectively in a fast-paced, technical environment
  • Support continuous improvement through learning and collaboration

You will have:

  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Confidence to liaise with clients, suppliers, and colleagues
  • Self-motivation and a desire to succeed
  • Good numeracy skills (quoting, pricing, negotiating)
  • A willingness to learn and grow professionally
  • Experience in a sales, utilities, or project management role (preferred, not essential)

Career Progression & Earning Potential

At Connections2energy, we’re invested in your long-term success. From day one, you’ll be on a structured development plan designed to take you from a Trainee Assistant to Senior Account Manager, with a clear pathway to earn up to £100,000 within 5 years. A typical progression looks like the following, but high performers may move through stages more quickly:

Year 1: 12-Month Trainee Programme

  • 3 months with the sales team, helping with quoting, chasing leads, and processing applications
  • 9 months glidepath to build towards consistency in revenues

Year 2: Assistant Account Manager

  • Salary increases to £27,000
  • You'll begin managing accounts and growing your client base, with increasing monthly targets
  • Commission: up to 10%, with top performers earning between £4,000 and £10,000

Years 3–4: Account Manager

  • Salary increases to £30,000
  • With a larger account base, you'll work in higher commission bands (up to 10%)
  • Commission: £10,000 minimum for target hitters; high performers can expect £10,000–£30,000

Year 4+: Senior Account Manager

  • Salary increases to £35,000
  • You’ll manage a steady pipeline of high-value clients
  • Commission increases to up to 12.5%
