Job Title: Accounting Software Account Manager
Location: Hybrid – Work from Home, Office-based, and Client Site Visits
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 6:00pm
Salary: £30,000 per annum + Commission (OTE up to £50,000 per annum)
Overview
We are seeking a proactive, commercially minded, and customer-focused Accounting Software Account Manager to manage and grow our existing client base while driving new business opportunities.
This hybrid role combines account management, client success, and full-cycle sales responsibilities. It is ideal for someone who enjoys building long-term relationships, helping clients maximise the value of accounting technology, and contributing directly to revenue growth.
You will act as a trusted advisor to existing clients—ensuring strong adoption, satisfaction, and retention—while working closely with the sales team to identify, pursue, and close new opportunities.
Key ResponsibilitiesClient Account Management & Customer Success
- Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of existing clients
- Onboard new clients and guide them through successful implementation of the accounting software
- Deliver client training on system functionality, best practices, and new feature updates
- Proactively identify client needs, usage gaps, and opportunities to enhance value
- Manage contract renewals, upsells, and cross-sells to ensure long-term retention and account growth
- Collaborate with support, product, and implementation teams to resolve client issues efficiently
Sales & New Business Development
- Support the full sales cycle: lead qualification, product demonstrations, proposals, negotiation, and close
- Work closely with sales leadership to identify expansion and new business opportunities
- Deliver tailored product demonstrations aligned to client and prospect requirements
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and contracts in collaboration with internal stakeholders
- Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and account activity records within the CRM system
Product & Market Expertise
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the accounting software, integrations, and industry-specific use cases
- Stay informed on developments within accounting, finance, and technology sectors
- Provide structured feedback from clients to product and leadership teams to support roadmap decisions
Background & Qualifications
- Degree educated or equivalent experience (Accounting or Finance desirable but not essential, depending on level)
- Part-qualified or fully qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent) desirable but not essential
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles including:
- Bookkeeping
- Management accounts
- Financial reporting
Technical & Systems Skills
- Confident using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms
- Strong general IT proficiency with the ability to quickly learn new systems
- Comfortable working with cloud-based platforms, digital workflows, and automation tools
- Good understanding of how technology improves efficiency, accuracy, and reporting in accounting processes
